The year was 1957 and on the shopfloor of a munitions factory, photographer Michael Walters had arrived to capture scenes of women at work in the most dangerous of environments. Instead, he found evidence of a nation gripped by rock ‘n’ roll mania – as the girls downed tools to dance to music on the wireless….
