Another strange experiment. Before today I’ve had never heard of a non-newtonian fluid. A non-Newtonian fluid is a fluid in which the viscosity changes with the applied strain rate. As a result, non-Newtonian fluids may not have a well-defined viscosity (wiki).

Square America collects pictures from old family photo-books. These pictures were all taken in the time that a photograph meant something. Before digital photography became popular you though before you clicked the button. In the collection of square America be sure to take a look at ‘the book of sleep‘. It’s quite relaxing to look [...]
It has been a while since I last posted about an original photographer. You can find lots of them in the posts of Cinoir.
But this one is a little different. Pawel Zak takes pictures of everyday objects and places them in a strange atmosphere. The artworks remind me strangely enough of pictures of large mooncraters [...]

Lately my mailbox is covered with spam. I get more than three times as much spam as useful mail.
Alex Dragulescu, an media artist, developped a nice use for it. He wrote a script that turns the information in Spam-emails into 3D architectural designs. I love ‘em!
Do check out the rest of his site: it’s filled [...]
Tim Barnard makes nice illustrations. Some remind me of tattoo-art, some of comic-books. There was one that got my attention: in one of his potraits he illustrates god as kind of a fat batman-like superhero. It’s quite a funny thought!
But who would be Robin then?
This is a very old one, but it is still good for a couple of laughs.

Only today, Doctor and I were talking about organising a festival that takes the classic out of classical music. We want to bring high standing classical music to a broad audience by combining it with ‘younger’ forms of art and food.
This would be perfect for the project: combining a classical piece with beatboxers, scratchers and [...]
This is probably a repost, but it’s one I like. In Japan there seems to be a movement of maken artistic manholes. There are some really nice designs.

A cue of illustrated characters. Nice!
Yesterday an old friend came for dinner. On one moment we got to discuss the particularities of people who grew up in the nineties.
The cliché says that people who were teenagers in the nineties are non-believers, are sarcastic and egocentric.
This cartoon is definitively made by a Nineties-guy.
Luke Chueh’s paintings are not so cudly as they appear. The strong sarcastical an humouristic side of the work keeps you looking.
It reminds me a bit of the happy tree friends series, but then better, more artistic.
Fantastic Poster! Does anyone know where I can find more of this work?

Robbie Williams. A strange phenomenon. I like him on the one hand, he’s got a great style and personality, but, on the other hand, he’s obviously a product, coming from boysband, being arrogant and always bored. In the next clip you meet the two sides. I like the crooner-song he’s singing, perfect, but just look [...]
I was reading a comic book from the series ‘Storm’ by Don Lawrence when I got fascinated by this subject. It’s real interesting to see how the perception or the expectation of the future always tells more about the time of creation than about the actual future. Though it seems strangely that our presentation of [...]
