“Walking on the Champs-Elysées
with a turtle in order to view the world
in a better way,
but it is difficult to drink tea on an iceberg
when everyone is drunk.”
 FC Bergman

Fanfare Ciocarlia, Goran Bregovich

‘Walking on the Champs-Elysées…’ is (a long titel for a theatre piece) a visual performance, loosely based on the ‘Divina Commedia’ by Dante Alighieri (in which the author describes his journey to the middle of the hell). FC Bergman battles with Dante’s devils in the company of forty extras, several chickens, a sheep and a couple of bunnies.

FC Bergman is a brand new Belgian (Antwerp) company with roots in the Herman Teirlinck Institute. In a short period of time they have developed an own theatrical language, which is not only anarchistic and slightly chaotic, but above all extremely visual and poetic.

By and with: Stef Aerts, Joé Agemans, Bart Hollanders, Matteo Simoni, Thomas Vertstraeten, Marie Vinck and others.

follow them!!!

Thank you for writing about this theatre group in English. It has been difficult to understand the Google Translated version of the pages I have been finding online.
