I remember seeing Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (wiki). As a child I didn’t think much of this movie. In fact it was quite scary.
But in fact it’s the theme of the movie/book is quite interesting…
Today I stumbled upon some illustrations of Arthur Rackham on Alice. They show the duality of dreams and a dreamword: scary and absolutely fun!
The duality seems to be inspiring to quite a lot of artists. Some examples:
